Anxiety relief
Participating in activities in open green, quiet spaces are a great way to relieve stress and anxiety. Gaining new skills about nature and forestry in a calm learning environment, creates a peaceful place to de-stress
Communication & Interaction
Working in small groups, helps create experiences that encourage communication and interaction. For example, building camp fires and roasting marshmallows creates a safe space for young people to share and talk.
Self Esteem & Independence
Gaining new skills is a great way to build self-esteem. Participating in new activities which are fun and enjoyable is a rewarding process, which is a great help in improving self-esteem. As skills grow, being able to complete task independently can also help growth with independent skills.
Fun
All activities are designed to be fun and social, whether you want to understand or meet new friends, our goal is to make everyday a fun learning day.
Across the farm there is plenty of dead wood that can be collected to build a fire. Young people can get involved in activities from foraging the materials, learning how to build a fire, and how to start a campfire.
Cooking on the campfire is a young people favourite, depending on the time of year, young people can cook and make a variety of foods. From collecting garlic and making garlic bread, soup making, and roasting marshmallow on the fire. It’s a great experience for young people to learn outdoor cooking as well as interaction and communication with their fellow young people and staff.
The farm is set in the beautiful countryside and home to wonderful wildlife, birds and minibeasts. Activities include bird watching, identifying birds, and learning biological breeds of birds. Minibeasts help the farms landscape grow, the young people will learn where minibeast live, different types of minibeast and how they help the land.
We can support AQA qualifications aligned with forestry learning from entry level, onwards. Classroom sessions can be on a 1:1 basis or small groups depending on a persons needs. All sessions are carried out by a qualified SEND Professionals.
Daily Routine
Each sessions students will get chance to take part of all the forestry activities. The young people are also given the opportunity to take part in classroom time during one of the sessions during the day.

AQA certification's
The AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS) empowers young individuals to gain valuable work experience and receive certification for their efforts. Through this scheme, they can compile a portfolio of certificates, each bearing testament to their skills, insights, and experiences. Participating in this program not only boosts their self-confidence but also heightens their engagement and amplifies their motivation, guiding them forward on their lifelong journey.
