All activities are designed to be fun and social, whether you want to understand about woodworking, repairs, arts & crafts or gain further qualifications, our goal is to make everyday a fun learning day.
The workshop has a variety of equipment to create a range of products. Young people are taught to use, cutting, drilling, and sanding tools, as well as the use of hammers and nails. Young people can design and build products they think will be useful at home or the farm. For example, students can make products like bird boxes, that can be put up around the farm or back home in their gardens. All activities are carried out with supervision in a safe environment.
The farm has a variety of different equipment to keep it running. Young people are supervised with servicing and repair of the equipment. As well as learning how to repair and service the equipment, young people learn about the equipment and how it used around the farm.
We have two tractors and two Kubotas at the farm, they are important vehicles to keep the farm running and animals fed. Servicing and small repairs are part of everyday life to keep the vehicles running smoothly. The young people are taught basic servicing and repairs, as well as the use the of vehicles and the part they play on the farm.
The farm consists of 18 acres, some of the fields are post and railed, there is one barn, stables, alpaca sheds, garden, and workshop. General day to day maintenance from replacing guttering, painting, replacing post and rail through to making sure the site is clean and tidy to use safely every day. Young people get some physical activity, whilst learning how to maintain a good working farm.
We have arts and crafts equipment for young people to get creative with. Maybe you are looking to create a collage book of the days or weeks activities, or to draw and paint your favourite animal. We have a space for young people to use their creative side to express themselves.
Daily Routine
Each sessions young people will get chance to take part of all the workshop activities. Young people are also given the opportunity to take part in classroom time during one of the sessions in the day.
